Hemingway was right. Paris is a movable feast. The city has so many quaint quarters, magnificent squares and crowded cafes that it can be a bit overwhelming trying to decide where to begin. Running to the Louvre and dashing to the top of the Eiffel Tower are certainly part of the journey, but the real joys of Paris run far deeper, as personal favorites begin to surface and familiar haunts become a second home. This issue highlights our favorite hotels (are you right-bank or left-bank?), newest bistrots, best chocolatiers, most legendary cafes and valuable tips for navigating the major sights. The issue also features some popular small treasured museums, our favorite Paris quarters, and helpful hints for maximizing a visit to Versailles. Travellers to Paris may also want to consider the issues on Paris Day Trips, the French Riviera and Provence.
